Reviews
This place is fab. The server told us they have had some negative reviews and I don’t get it, as our experience last night (Monday) was delicious and fun.
The vibe is great: moody and chill in terms of decor, lighting and the music. The music was at the perfect volume when we arrived at 7- good for talking, even with us seated almost next to the DJ- and the volume increased just slightly as the evening rolled on. Atmospheric vibes were conducive to a conversation which is exactly what we wanted: not having to shout to hear each other.
The service was very good. The drinks great: my smash cocktail was potent and lovely: a bit herbal with strong gin flavour, with a touch of sweetness. My husband appreciated his bold whiskey and my friend her orange wine.
The serving portions are generous for the price so massive applause there! A very large bowl of padron peppers and fried chicken, and my big bowl of nasu (aubergine) pleased me with its size, utterly delicious miso flavour, and texture. Likewise my oyster mushrooms. I was perfectly sated after. My friend’s dragon roll was huge!!
It’s definitely not cheap but my friend’s work covered half the bill. 🙃 I would return.
Very cool little bar/restaurant in Dalston with great djs and a solid sound system. Chic design, low lighting, good music, efficient staff and a very simple but pretty pleasing set menu. Worth a visit.
This place is a great spot for an atmospheric dinner. Staff were super nice - we had an issue with my gift card not being taken off the bill properly and they fixed it with no fuss.
Food was excellent quality.
Definitely recommend for a little treat out
What an incredible bar restaurant. Tokyo vibes, delicious food and top notch cocktails. Nathan is a gem of a bartender. Will be visiting on repeat.
Little bit dark for my taste.
Service, all the bartenders and waiters and waitresses they were all talking at the bar, doesn’t look good.
Food was exceptional, but is only a SET menu, you can’t order something else because you are more hungry.
I’d definitely recomend this place if you are a foodie.
An amazing bar and restaurant with lovely chilled vibe. Cocktails were top notch, and the Japanese vegan set menu was ace, especially the Oyster mushrooms with edamame purée! Worth every minute of the experience.
I’ve lived in Hackney for seven years and have eaten at many of the borough’s fine dining establishments. I can confidently say dining at Brilliant Corners is mediocre and overpriced. Dishes were plopped down onto our table with no explanation or mention of what we were eating (tricky especially when half our group was vegetarian). We were constantly hounded by servers asking us to order more drinks. Food was average, and ‘sharing’ portion sizes were laughable. The general atmosphere amongst the staff was high stress. The music programming there is good, so if you want to check that out I highly recommend skipping dinner and only joining for the dancing portion of the evening.
Excellent meal - highly recommend the set menu. The oyster mushrooms were my favorite dish by far. The only strange thing was that they didn’t serve any tea or hot water but other than that it was a great dining experience with excellent food, cool music and a good overall vibe
